Latest News

Welcome to the Brooklyn Medical Practice Newsletter.

We aim to publish the newsletter at least twice each year as another way of keeping our patients informed of what is happening within the practice.  We hope that you find this newsletter interesting and would welcome any ideas for future topics you would like to see included.

New Telephone System

We updated our telephone system on the afternoon of Wednesday 9th May.  The new system will help us to manage the volume of calls we receive more efficiently, and also give our patients the choice to speak to the appropriate member of staff for their query. Further information will be available in the practice and also on the leaflets below, as well as being provided over the telephone when patients call into the practice. There will be NO CHANGE to the main contact number which will remain the same as 01773 712552.

New Computer System

We are also updating our clinical computer system in June and are currently preparing for the change-over.  Unfortunately this will inevitably mean some disruption for our staff and patients but we are putting plans in place to keep the disruption to a minimum.  Our new system will be up and running from Thursday 14th June, however we will have limited access to our current system in the week prior to change-over.  There are various things you can do to help yourself and our staff during this time.

Plan ahead - if you know your repeat prescription is going to run out between 5th June and 14th June, please order a few days early.

Routine appointments / reviews - unfortunately until we have our new system up and running we cannot forward book any appointments at this time. Once the new system is running and our clinics are set up we will be able to book patients in. We will be able to do this from Thursday 14th June.

Please be patient with our staff - it takes time to get used to a new system and additional training will be taking place during the first two weeks of the new system being 'live'.

On-line Services - those patients already using our on-line services will be contacted with information on how to re-register for the new service which connects to our new clinical system.  Additional information will be posted on our website for any patients wishing to register for on-line services, which enable patients to access on-line ordering for prescriptions, booking appointments and access to medical records.
